    ah ha

if were on the subject of having a moan about things,

    heres my moan,

On CAG , when you get a notification as to a reply , you get the message which has been posted, whereas here you dont, so you cant see if its urgent from the email or something you can deal with later.

it would be helpful if you could see what had been posted in the email notification
I work for Roach Pittis Solicitors. I give my free time available to helping other on the forum and would be happy to try and assist informally where needed. Any posts I make on LegalBeagles are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as legal advice. Any advice I provide is without liability.

If you need to contact me please email me on Pt@roachpittis.co.uk .

I have been involved in leading consumer credit and data protection cases including Harrison v Link Financial Limited (High Court), Grace v Blackhorse (Court of Appeal) and also Kotecha v Phoenix Recoveries (Court of Appeal) along with a number of other reported cases and often blog about all things consumer law orientated.

There is a prominent broken link of the site front page, so I suspect that you fell foul of that?

          Specifically the link in:

"Legal Beagles is a FREE forum offering support, discussion & advice in many areas of your life."

          i.e. http://www.legalbeagles.info/forum/ gives you a 404.

          If you click the

tab, then you get to the forum which has a Register link at the top.

Could arguably be more prominent though.

Thank you Nibbler, thats more constructive, if I don't know I can't fix it, which I will do so later.

              And a privacy measure too.

Many people post in haste, and then quickly edit things when they realise they have posted unwise or private info that they shouldn't.

If notifications contain the original text, then that goes out unmodified to all subscribers.

Fixed that broken link on the homepage, thanks Nibbler.

Nibbler is correct as to the reason the notifications do not contain the text, as is Curly.

If spam gets sent out on email notifications it is picked up as spam and we get blacklisted. It also causes no end of problems with people posting in haste, then editing, and the notifications being sent out with the original text on. MSE do not include the text in their notifications either.

Anything else while we're moaning ? Just remember, this is not like CAG for a reason, it is NOT CAG.

We took the text out the notifications from day one and it will stay that way.

Morning Amethyst, yep Nibbler has already pointed out the error, so bet me too that one, now for the 37 other errors on the front page alone...................

Eeeek im going to get myself band at this rate:bolt:lol

Most are not important, but you have an unclosed meta tag in the header, and a few rougue tables, tr's and td's that are opened but not ended, not figured out why or what they are supposed to be there for, still not had enough caffine for that yet

                    Blind runs and hides ......lol

You have a fair few errors in your post. Would you like me to point them out to everyone too?

I agree, while it seemed a good idea at the time, from a mod or admin point of view, and to a point the user's, it does cause more issues as you highlight that are not apparent at first.

Yes there are a number of errors with html and php coding throughout the site. Now and then we'll fire up the Google Webmaster Tools and spend a few hours fixing them, as you say most do not matter in the slightest.

The homepage and sidebar may have coding errors, but they only matter to those of us who try and put them together, and those of us anal enough to analyse every site they visit. So long as things look okay, and work okay, for the majority of our visitors, and don't pee off the spiders or google, then it's happy days by us.

I suggest that you try harder, because what you are actually achieving is just plain rude.

As Amethyst has pointed out in an earlier post, this is not CAG, which is presumably the reason you are here. If you have constructive criticism to make, then sending a PM to Site Admin would appear to be a more agreeable way of helping for all concerned, although of course it would not allow you to demonstrate to us all your mastery of the web…

We are happy that you are here and we welcome all new members, but whoever you were on CAG you are a new member here and manners cost nothing.
