Truth of the matter is I don't give a toss about America or most of the American public. After watching a TV doc a few days ago I became even more anti American. The people interviewed didn't care a toss about tne rest of the population, the only thing on their agenda was selfishness. The whole idea of capatilist America and stuff the under classes was sick, I wish the country would sink to the depths of the ocean. About the election, well Obama will win a landslide victory but will in my opinion be one of the least popular Presidents in history and will be the target of many assasins. He changes his policies at the whiff of offending who he is addressing at any given time. As for McCain he is far too old and a mad war monger, so given a chance he would try to rule the world, so thankfully he wont be the chosen one.

I would vote McCain, a decorated War Hero. Barack Obama, simply lacks hard substance apart from having the full support of Oprah Winfrey. Is that credentials to win the American Election? If he wins, at least we can have someone inexperienced to go after....have you seen Little Britain USA? Me thinks they have already decided who will win.

It's not that much of a choice, but I'd go with McCain on balance. Several things make me uneasy about Mr. Obama:

          1) The hagiographic 'pre-ordained' feel about his campaign coverage by a fawning, unquestioning mainstream media (including our own 'impartial' Beeb it has to be said). He almost seems annointed.

          2) Several extremely questionable connections - a known terrorist, the radical black 'community organisation' ACORN, that has been strongly linked to electoral fraud, and others.

          3) Unanswered questions about his nationality. He says he was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, his grandmother says he was born in Kenya. A legal action brought by lawyer Philip Berg to produce an original Birth Certificate in order to prove that he is qualified to be a US President has just been dismissed by the USSC but the story is still developing with barely two days before the Election. Berg, a Democrat and former deputy Attorney General for Pennsylvania, is seemingly not giving up.

Obama has still not produced conclusive documentary evidence to show he is qualified by birth and Berg also claims to have a tape of the conversation with Obama's Granny - which will no doubt materialise this weekend.

          4) Strong links to more than one racist so-called 'Minister'.

          5) The implicit argument that has been deployed by both the Democrat camp and their sympathisers in the media (and not only in the States I might add), that any American that doesn't vote for him must somehow be a racist.

This man has skeletons in the cupboard and a LOT of unanswered questions to his name. McCain might not be the most appealing candidate in the world, lacking Obama's obvious 'star quality', but at least he is a relative 'straight arrow'.

I dont really care but I would go for Obama.

I say a tv news thing a few weeks ago on pros and cons of the candidates and McCain is not quite the "war hero" he is made out to be with several serious questionable actions when he was serving including delibratley bombing a civilian area.

He also has a renown temper problem and members of his own party have questioned his ability to keep calm in serious situations.

Also his choice as a running mate is shocking! That woman is not ready to be president in any way shape or form and thats what a running mate is meant to be!

Everytime its come on the telly in the last week I've switched over and want it oevr and done with now!

Obama is a US Citizen. The 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees citizenship at birth to almost all individuals born in the United States or in U.S. jurisdictions, according to the principle of jus soli. Certain individuals born in the United States, such as children of foreign heads of state or children of foreign diplomats, do not obtain U.S. citizenship under jus soli.

Certain individuals born outside of the United States are born citizens because of their parents, according to the principle of jus sanguinis (which holds that the country of citizenship of a child is the same as that of his/her parents).

It is a fact that under the provisions of Article Two of the U.S. Constitution naturalised citizens are ineligible to hold the office of president, but this disqualification does not apply to Barack Obama, who has been a citizen since birth.

McCain's choice of running mate was inspired, while Obama merely chose a Kinnock clone. How immensely disappointing it must have been for the world's liberals and "Obamamaniacs" that Sarah Palin was not reduced to a quivering wreck by boring, old Joe Biden in their televised debate. The level of vitriol against Mrs Palin, which seems to be rooted in snobbery, is astonishing. However, her performance made it clear that John McCain was shrewd to have made her his running mate. The characteristics that cause fashionable Americans to turn up their noses at Mrs Palin are those that will cause middle America - a much bigger constituency - to warm further to her.

As for McCain's war record, I think unless you have experienced combat, judgments regarding what constitutes a legitimate target are best left alone.

It is curious how those in Britain who are backing Barack Obama in America are the same ones who also back Brown over here, yet they fail to see the irony of this.

McCain, apparently, would be more of the same as Bush has been in the White House for seven-and-a-half years and is carrying the can for all the financial mismanagement on his watch - which is just what Brown should be doing here, since he has been in charge of the financial mismanagement of Britain since May 1997.

Re: McCain V Obama, who would you vote for

                              Obama is a US Citizen.
You've seen no evidence of this. Because neither Obama nor his campaign will release any. There is a document floating around the internet (a supposed copy of a 'Certificate of Live Birth', not an Official Birth certificate) that was originally leaked or donated to an extreme left-wing website, The Daily Kos. This document has been denounced as a fake and has a tell-tale error in it which gives the lie to its provenance.

His campaign will not release a Birth Certificate - if indeed a legitimate one exists. The campaign also refuses to state which of the possible two hospitals on Honolulu Obama was supposedly born in.

I repeat what i said in my earlier post - Obama has still not produced conclusive documentary evidence to show he is qualified by birth for the office of POTUS. The State Government in Hawaii claim to have this proof but have placed it under seal and will not release it.

And then there's 'Grannygate' (not the Granny who sadly died yesterday but the one in Kenya).

Ask yourself a question. Unless there was evidence of some kind of dementia, would you and your Grandmother disagree about the country of your birth?

Too many unanswered questions, too many missing documents. It may well come to light that all is perfectly well and Obama is qualified to be President - but this information should rightfully be in the public domain now, not post-election.

It's the cagey, cloak-and-dagger way in which his campaign has conducted themselves on this and other perfectly legitimate questions that people are asking, that mean if I were a US Citizen, I would be playing safe and voting for John McCain today.
