Crickey Exc - you are not that far from me - but we just had lots of ice. The dog nearly pulled me over as I slid down the road after him.

Nasty accidents on the M40 -I think there was a fatility..

It is still chaos on the roads here as the motorway was closed both directions.

MOH was stuck not moving on the Motorway for 2 and half hours and my 10 minute journey tok me 40 minutes.

Still thats nothing compared with the poor families of the drivers.

It's snowing down south. There's a pond here somewhere.

Its the same here in Essex EXC and I've never known our pond to be completely frozen over even the ducks have ice skates on. I'm wondering if the Koi will be ok, do you think I should put some hot water in to melt the ice a bit ?

No don't use hot water! Cold blooded animals can't deal with sudden temperature change. The best thing to do is remove as much ice from the surface as you can as very cold water causes a significant drop in the oxygen level for your fish to breathe.

If you use a pump keep it running as water movement will increase the oxygen level and leave a gap in the ice.
