Re: Penalty Charges taken down by hosting company

Penalty Charges is offline at present.

There may be some form of bug / virus attached to the pop up log in screen for penalty charges so please do not use it to try and log into penalty charges forum.

    As Ame has already stated

"Stephen hopes the site will be back up this afternoon, probably on a new hosting."

Realistically this may take a bit longer than he expects but am pretty sure he will get things up and running again quite quickly.

Re: Penalty Charges taken down by hosting company

Bloody conspiracy theorists are really anoying me. This has come from a major company not me. Why in gods name would I want to take down Penalty Charges. I don't want to take down CAG either while we're here. Completely bloody ridiculous.

I have the copy of the info from Stephen - as it has his home address on it i won't post it - It is bonafide, the server hosting company have forced Papaerhat to take down PC, and Stephen is working his arse off to get it sorted.

I have copied and pasted it in the first post of this thread.

We have offered Stephen support if he needs it.

This is not about site politics AT ALL.

Re: Penalty Charges taken down by hosting company

        no it is not malware
it is for the server host
tis the main password box to access the site server
got my lad to check it out(he is a web tech student)

i have posted this on cag and if it is alright with amy i will post it here

paperhat if you post here and you are are the hoster ,you have a user acc on pc.
can you post your pc user name ?
this will show you are not a hoaxer and enable me to calm some fears amongst the pc members,
i am not being funny mate, just want to confirm you are who you say you are
i hope you will understand why i am asking

        regards
        granby

also a big thank you to amy for providing what we all hope is temporary sanctuary :okay:

          Fine by me.

I did ask Stephen if he wanted me to set up a forum for PC users on here while he gets sorted but he is quite confident of getting back up today...he's moving over the database and files to a new server host at the moment (I think its a bit hit or miss talking to him as hes rather busy).

Will keep an eye on things and try and keep peeps updated when Stephen can't.

            great post amy
            thanks

lets stop this nonsense before it goes any further
not conspiracy's, not inter site infighting, not any such type of nonsense

just a money lending firm trying to flex it's muscles, and as usual,
using intimidating tactics to bully people to get its own way
i for one do not think that the firm who have lodged the complaint/threat
would ever try to go to court with this,
it is so paper thin it would be so easy to defend against, that it would probably get thrown out before it reached a judge
but the server provider(not paperhat nor 1+1 )will not take the chance,
it is purely a commercial decision to pull pc

i for one think it is time for ALL OUR SITES to move to an offshore server company(Sweden would be my suggestion , they are much more web friendly
pirate bay is a prime example)

the same way the said loan company operates out of malta to avoid a large portion of British legislation and taxes

Re: Penalty Charges taken down by hosting company

Yes it could, the companies are vastly more powerful than us little guys fighting them (hence why we are fighting them)....so long as we all stick together and help each other out we will get through anything and we will contiinue advising consumers and giving them the information on their rights they deserve, and no amount of kyboshing attempts will stop us.

                          So poo.
