Wayne Rooney goes home and tells Colleen that apparently John Terry has slept with every England players wife except one. Colleen says yeah, i bet it was Posh the stuck up cow.

Could this be the way to go? I have received a further email about this which is about the fact that if 3400 fans buy shares for £1000.00 it will give the club the money to buy the stadium and reduce the annual £240, 000 a year annual rent. The savings itself could lead to the club making profit and therefore passing that profit onto the shareholders.....interesting proposition in football terms.

That certainly sounds like a good idea Nattie, the only thing that troubles me is, are there 1,000 Cambridge United fans out there with £1k to spare ?

Allegedy Southend United have got a 35 day adjournment of a winding up order brought by the HMRC over a £183,000 debt, apparently the Chairman put forward proposals to pay, god knows what he's going to come up with.

There is money in Cambridge but whether investors rather than supporters have that kind of money is another thing. I am kinda interested by the money side of things is a worry. Had it been £500.00 I might have re evaluated my current short terms goals and revised them....

I guessed thats what you'd like to do hun, and to be honest I don't blame you, I think it would be worth investing especially if they did a deal whereas the investors got a concession on the season ticket or something.

Do you think though that this kinda thing could be a business model that other football clubs might look at as a way of keeping them afloat?

Yes I do think that perhaps it could be a way forward, especially for the smaller clubs out there. I just think it would be a crying shame to lose what I like to call the 'backbone' of the football leagues and lets face it if a team has supporters who are willing and can afford to buy into the club then its all for the greater good of the sport isn't it.

Personally I'd love to have enough money to be able to invest into my team but I don't think that Chelsea would sell me a share for what I can afford.

Talking of own goals, we've got the West Ham v Wolves game on at the moment, I'm wearing ear plugs ready for the swearing.

Ok, so Chelsea take the lead in the title race, Arsenal close the gap at the top. Manchester City take over from Spurs in 4th. Darren Bent misses 2 out of 3 penalties awarded to Sunderland. At the bottom, Portsmouth are close to relegation.
In the Championship, Newcastle are closer to getting back in the Premiership, West Brom may well follow them.
Peterbro' will go down(I am happy due to local rivalry)
In Division One, Norwich look to be champions and Leeds are on a horrific run at the minute. At the bottom Stockport are almost down and out.
In Division 2: Notts County are likely to go up automatically and Bury cannot win for love nor money. Darlington have had 2 straight wins at the bottom but are almost down and out. Grimsby who should have gone down last year are looking likely candidates to go down.
In the Conference it's Stevenage against Luton for the title as Oxford appear to have dropped off. Cambridge won't even make the play offs(that's my team).

SO guys and gals, who is your team and are you looking forward to the title, promotion or the play offs? Is your team going down and would you sack the manager?
You know what this is, it's the footy thread

Oh Natts thank you so much for getting this going.

Me: ax you know I am a Chelsea supporter, have been all my life.

Although I think our manager is great I'd still like to see Jose Mourinho back and I think its about time the booing of John Terry stopped and think he should be given the England captainship back, after all he's no worse than Ferdinand or Gerrard who have both been in trouble in the past.

My Other half is a West Ham fan for his sins, I suspect the language will be awful later during their game at Everton. Personally I think that Zola will go and would love to see him replaced by the absolutely georgous Paulo di Canio, hmmmm no where is that link the the Imperial Leather advert oooooo errrrrrr.

I don't think John Terry does deserve the England captaincy, with Ferdinand and Gerrard, neither have slept with a fellow players ex girlfriend. Unfortunately, Capello will never give Terry the armband back while he is manager.
