  • Martin Lewis & OFT to meet

Martin lewis will meet the OFT later this week to discuss the current bank
charges situation. Hopefully we might get some clarity on a number of
    issues.

    Good on Martin Lewis.

Hope he is meeting them without a publicist and tv cameras and will have a serious discussion with them about the actual issues.

I've read them and I have to say that I only hope ML dosn't ask them.

Some of them were so beyond the realms of common sense it little wonder the OFT hardly talk to the movement

                I have added a question.

I do have to agree with EXC on some of your Q's Tanz -confrontation and accusation wont get us anywhere - we need some facts out of them so we know where to go forward. I do agree with the poster before me - clarification on hardship is needed - mainly to stop every man and his dog applying for stay lifts thus allowing those in genuine hardship to have their claims considered properly.

lol point taken. But to be fair nothing that isn't being thought by many others.

I must admit I do get a tad angry when I think about the OFTs involvement in the charges debate as they are not helping consumers like they really should be. I also think ML will already have his questions ready and they will be to promote the charter which I also disagree with.

                    Tools good post over there.

Yep I have to agree with everything Tanz said there. You see the Governments response (to the charter)? suprising isnt it

Damn fine post on MSE by Tools .... as bloomin' usual lol. (especially the echo )

Re: Martin Lewis & OFT to meet

The petition was always going to recieve an on the fence cop out type response from the Gov. This is why my posts over there were prob so sarcastic, however they were my own thoughts and not the thoughts of any site in particular.

Just wanted to make that clear lol.

Perhaps my sense of humour also needed a bit to be desired LMAO (it made me laugh though) but ML will prob not even read the thread anyway and I don't know if anyone else has noticed but on MSE the Mods post up new threads then don't even contribute further which makes me wonder how much use they actually have.

I saw that thread as somewhere for me to have a rant.

Amethyst we always know what your on about. lol :-)

Re: Martin Lewis & OFT to meet

I have asked Martin if, regardless of the outcome of his OFT meeting, he intends to seek a similar meeting with the FSA.

With the precedent set by the OFT agreeing to meet him it would be difficult
for the FSA to turn down such a request and would be a golden opportunity
to voice our concerns about the waiver.
