  • FOS still receiving 100 new cases every DAY on credit card default fees

    http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/redres.../MS_FOS_en.pdf

Figures given in response to EU Green Paper on collective redress in Feb 2009 - so the 2006 OFT report really hasn't stemmed the flow or made businesses deal with complaints much better has it.

Lots of interesting stuff which I have posted elsewhere but that kinda jumped out as its something which is 'meant' to have been addressed already, and which the OFT have already said they don't intend taking further action on, maybe they need to have a rethink.

I have the feeling that once the Banks test case is dealt with that the credit card lenders will be next in the firing line. Maybe this is just one of the reasons why the white paper is looking at super complaints and how to deal with them more efficiently and expeditiously so as not to create another test case debacle.

Totally agree with you since their initial veiwpoint was that there wasn't enough complaints to warrant taking legal action......well, there is now
