Stop charging these crippling overdraft fees

As reported on MoneySavingExpert.com Barclays Bank will be hitting people where it hurts with new charges which take effect from 16 June 2014.

Barclays Current Account customers who use more than £15 of their agreed overdraft will be liable for overdraft charges from 75p -£3.00 per day. Over 30 days that could add up to £90.00 (depending on which of 3 bands the overdraft is in). The bands are: Up to £1000 (75p/day), up to £2000 (£1.50/day), over £2000 (£3.00/day).

As if customers aren't finding it hard enough just getting by from day to day as it is, Barclays have now made matters worse for a lot of people! How is this action from Britain's biggest high street bank going to aid the economic recovery?

    Signed!

Thanks for posting this here, Ame :yo: I hardly ever go round the green field these days.

As posted on other threads, I've paid over £300 worth of charges on my Barclays business account, incurred during the couple of years I didn't use it. :mad2: It doesn't even have an O/D facility but Barclays made the account go into the red by applying charges for services I hadn't even requested, such as "data backup" and "business additions" (or something like that), then O/D charges on top.

Was about to switch my account to Santander (where I have my personal accounts), who were offering free business banking, when the subject of director credit checks came up.

I quickly made my apologies, saying I was running out of time :bolt: and that my co-director was in the Far East (that was actually true), so I'd have to come back to them. It's been a couple of years and I'm still with Barclays for reasons above.
