It's been a quiet few months since the OFT announced the test case against the main banks regarding the legality of their charges, but the forum
on LB has been going from strength to strength. We have recently introduced our 'International Issues' forum which we hope will bring information
from other parts of the world regarding their strategies and fight against the major institutions - the sub-prime credit crisis in the US is affecting
our markets already, with Kensington pulling out of the bad credit lending market. Australia has had similar issues over extortionate bank charges
which we can learn from and we hope they can learn from our battle for fairness.

Our Support forum is proving invaluable to many of our users, as we understand that financial difficulties do often stem from
personal life issues. People often come to us with the desire to improve their lives in many other aspects and sorting the financial side of things
is all too often a large part of that.

Our Team and members have been working in the background on a number of projects which will be released in the coming weeks. We
are all very excited and look forward to sharing these with you all.

As it’s the season of goodwill and it’s our first Christmas, it was felt that it would be a nice gesture to open up some of the VIP forum, completely free, for every single member in the final run up to Christmas.
The VIP area will be available from 21st December until 31st December (incl) and it will include access to:-
·Shoutbox - you will see this at the top of the main forum page on logging in - this acts like a mini chatroom for VIP members and is a place for discussion and advice.
·Stag’s Pants – this is a popular area for over 18's and a place for the more 'off the cuff' jokes and discussions.
·Off-topic discussion – this is exactly as it says – a place to discuss everything else.
There are still areas that will remain private. These are areas where people discuss matters which are more personal than they feel able to do on an open public forum. These and other benefits of becoming a VIP member, such as a Legal Beagle email address and enhancements to your Private Message facility, are available to full members.
We hope you enjoy being an honorary VIP and a part of our community. Everyone is really friendly, so if you have any queries please ask.

StevoKenevo has tied the knot - we wish him and his new wife all the best for the future.
We are delighted to congratulate CrashBandicoot on the arrival of Zulaykha Raj Born on Thursday 08 November 2007, weighing 6lbs 14.5 ozs.
We have recently started offering seasonal quizzes. These are proving to be very popular with lots of our members and in fact are becoming quite infectious. Take a look and join in and no Googling for the answers, it's pointless! Our very nice, but fiendish, Quiz Master PKea has made sure of that.

One of our newest Team Members, Enaid, has been having a clear out. She came across this old recipe, just wondered if anyone else remembers it.
This recipe is for "Thebanktakethandthebankgivethback" Cake, rather a mouthful I know, but this recipe has been tried and tested and worked for thousands in the past.
All time scales in this recipe may differ as temperatures (and attitudes) of different Banks and Institutions vary.
INGREDIENTS
1 £10 Worth of S.A.R
1 Nice Prelim (CI to be included at this stage if being used)
1 Firm L.B.A
1 Court Action (Either MCOL or NI both work well)
Other requirements, PC, printer, stationary and stamps, spreadsheets, cheque book or POs and a lot of patience
METHOD
Stage 1. Dispatch SAR including £10 leave for up to 40 days (no longer) to mature.
Stage 2. On receipt of statements, give them a good reckoning and at this stage add CI if you are including it.
Stage 3. Dispatch your nice Prelim, worded correctly, allowing for delivery times give no more than 14 days for a reaction.
Stage 4. Having by now probably not got the required result needed, you will need to dispatch your firm LBA, again giving a further 14 days allowing for delivery.
Stage 5. This is the final stage and must be adhered to. Either using MCOL or the NI, as stated both work well, follow the instructions as laid down for you. Not forgetting to add your court costs and your 8% interest (that is if you have not claimed CI, you can not claim both).
In this stage there are time scales set down and a few more small procedures to follow, but now it should be time to sit back and wait for your slice of the cake.
As with so many things these days the 'Experts' have decided that this recipe is no longer good for us. They have, for now, stopped us from using it. In their wisdom they are going to analyse the ingredients and come up with a "Much Improved Recipe" that will be good for us.
Not long now 'till we find out if this is the case, in the meantime don't forget the old saying "You can't have your cake and eat it"

Finally, the last few months have been a roller coaster ride for many of our members and users. Some have had fabulous results, some stories are heart breaking. Read their threads in the forum and see what an inspiration they are to new and existing users. They have been encouraged and befriended
by others in Legal Beagles and will tell you that that friendship has meant a lot to people who otherwise may have given up.
We are always open for ideas, tips and information that you can offer in our quest to help thers. No matter how small you may think it is, out of all the little bits that we pick up going along a bigger picture is being formed. A picture that in the end will give us a true and honest view, how we, the consumers
are being treated. We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our Team members, users, VIPs and their families a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Thank you for making our first year a memorable one.
Best wishes
