  • BARCLAYCARD customers - check your statements

Barclaycard have been bringing forward the payment due dates on their cards to approximately 9 days previous to the original date, meaning if you pay monthly by direct debit to clear your balance or make minimum payment, you risk being lumped with a late payment fee and interest, for making your usual payment on time.

Barclaycard's underhand tactics - Legal Beagles

If you have been affected contact Barclaycard and ask for a refund, and a letter to the FSA wouldnt go amiss either.

To be honest this is happening with other cards as well.
My LTSB's payment date keeps moving and I get hit with late payments often, despite the fact I always pay on the same date and always have.
I have already written to them complaining, but got no where fast.
The FOS, ect wont touch this as they claim it is a business needs decision and outside their remit.

interesting Curly. Did they give you any notice of the change ? I assume you complained to FOS to get that reply.

        okay so this quite widespread.

RBS cardholders currently have around 25 days from the date a credit card statement to the due payment date and this period is being reduced to 15 days. NatWest, which is a subsidiary of RBS, is applying the same time limit.
RBS has advised all cardholders (11 million in total) of the new terms and conditions, however, the details of the changes, which only affect RBS, NatWest and Mint cardholders who clear their credit card balance in full each month, are buried in the small print.
