Well what a fine figure of a self opinionated stuck up cow this is,

      http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/k...witter-3254882

fully deserves all the slagging off she gets and should not be allowed on tv any more imho.

Who should be though is the handsome chappy in the grey top, who must have been swapping seats all the time cause he was nearly always in camera shot lol xx

i think the stuck up bitch ruined it she only had one view IMO that eveyrone without money should not be allowed to borrow in case they couldn't pay it back no doubt we shall see more of her on the tele now she can rake in the money by being superbitch/
We can all be critical of others but she took it to exstemes

Most of the show involved Katie expressing her views and one woman, despite now being debt free, was told: "You have to save for Christmas," following her revelation that she spent £1,600 on presents.

Seems pretty obvious this Katty does not understand you can not save if there is nothing left to save from, that people who in the past tried to save for Christmas and by doing so got ripped off to some tune by a firm supposedly helping them to do so.
This woman was probably trying her best to make Christmas good for her kids and rightly or wrongly by giving them what their mates had.Enormous amount of pressure now from kids imho and it takes a very tough parent in deed to turn them down. What this woman did not know was that more than likely the other kids parents were in the same position as she and up to their neck in debt.

very true Enaid every kid wants the latest toy or gadget their friends have parents buy or let the kids go without the consumer society created here creates a problem that many get into debt for.

Hopkins sparked fury on Twitter by backing up payday loan firms and shouting down others with opposing views.
"I think it's a decent business model," she said of the loan firms. Host Ferrari then asked the audience if anyone backed up her statement and not many people showed their hands.

She stated these firms were great if used as intended for short term or until payday. If that is not living from hand to mouth and a complete contradiction of her views (save up) then I don't know what is.

By the sounds of it I am glad I didn't cancel band practice to watch this programme. I heard Katie Hopkins give her views on another subject she didn't have a clue about on Jeremy Vine the other day, what has she done and where has she been to been viewed as an expert by these programmes? I am a gas fitter/plumber, sorry bankrupt gas fitter/plumber, and the one thing I know about tv because they do it with the cowboy tradesmen programmes is that they highlight the side that makes good tv not the true picture. It seems as though channel 5 didn't want a true warts and all debate they wanted the notoriety of a big mouthed opinionated nobody to give that edge and controversy and get them some newspaper space, another chance for the truth to be discussed lost.

If anyone wishes to endure the pain here it is on demand - http://www.channel5.com/shows/the-bi...bt-debate-live

Mike Thomas ( DebtWizard ) , Paul Blomfield MP , and Michael O'Connor I thought were very good although no one had enough time to speak properly.

There were a couple of others who, sorry, I'll have to check back on their names, who I thought represented the actual position of everyday people and did really well.

Katie Hopkins is just a TV Character - shame Channel Five chose to use her for publicity and ratings but that's the world of TV, and it gets people talking and thinking I suppose.

Tools' said he chatted with a few people from the panel and audience before and after the show and will 'report' back later. To be honest I expected it to be a lot worse than it was, and to me it seemed like the traditional sky tv playstation b*llsh*t arguments are really falling flat nowadays because it just isn't about that anymore, it's about food, heating, rent and council tax and a basic standard of living.

It doesn't sound like its going to be a particularly serious debate; which is sad. I'm sorry, but celebs like Jim Davidson going bankrupt is hardly relevant to the everyday indebtedness we know and hate.
As for Katie Hopkins - No words can adequately cover my thoughts. Her presence alone on this show has likely deterred many from taking part. :brick:
Your view of Katie Hopkins, Cel, very much echoes my own view of her. I watched her on some TV programme about welfare benefits one evening and, in all honesty, I have never witnessed such intolerance, prejudice or ignorance in my life. Even the programme presenter got uncomfortable with what she was coming out with and had to challenge what she was saying.
Life is a journey on which we all travel, sometimes together, but never alone.

I'm sure she isn't. Most of what she says is contrived because that's the part she plays in the theatre of debate, and people really shouldn't take her role seriously.
