De ja vu ..... interesting bit is ''The good news is that across the board overdraft charges have plummeted since 2008, with estimated consumer savings of up to £928 million over the past five years.” ... so that is £928million the banks have lost out on .... not enough in my opinion.

That banks feel the need to provide 'online calculators' is an admission in itself that account charges are way too complicated.

It's a comment made in frustration i.e. that as a militant any real and genuine progress defeats his reason for being.

I have to agree with Amethyst, that it's an odd comment to make at all and does not say anything about anything.
I think Which? have done this exercise before and have come to the same conclusion each time, ie that the banks language of charging is more difficult. The problem is that since the Bank Charges Case, they have had to justify charging £25 for going a penny overdrawn so some of them have actually gone down the line of saying that if it is for a less than £10 then they don't charge whilst others have different ways of charging. Furthermore, overdrafts(even authorised ones) now attract a fee although that might be offset if you take out a paid for package account that is probably not gonna use or never will.

Until the banks have across the board charges or charging structures(we will never get them) and competition on savings/current accounts combined then it aint gonna change the fact that the ordinary customer will not be able to get there.

Amethyst/EXC, have you considered perhaps amongst yourselves or even asking me politely, to set up a series of 10 questions which perhaps VIP's could be PM'd to see whether we get the same results?(there is an idea in my head which involves participation in a group setting or even perhaps just site team).....give me a shout if you want me to ask some questions that might produce differential results....lol!!!

I am sounding less and less clearer the more I speak about this idea!!
