    It could have been worse:

"he was rumoured to have been approached by Lloyds TSB who offered him £5m to buy the site"

        Merger cases
The OFT is reviewing the anticipated acquisition by Moneysupermarket.com Group plc of the business of moneysavingexpert.com. The invitation to comment was issued today.

The Office of Fair Trading is considering whether arrangements are in progress or in contemplation which, if carried into effect, will result in the creation of a relevant merger situation under the merger provisions of the Enterprise Act 2002 and, if so, whether the creation of that situation may be expected to result in a substantial lessening of competition within any market or markets in the United Kingdom.

Affected sector: consumer finance advice websites

If the site has been earning income from Money supermarket then I suppose its not been entirely independent for a long time. I've always found when looking at posts that people are very judgemental on there where new members are asking for advice. A lot of IFAs are on there posing as members too. I think Martin Lewis has done a great job to raise awareness of consumer issues. I suppose with the arrival of a little MSE...his priorities will change. Good luck to him. I certainly could do with that money at the moment. lol
