Sir Fred Goodwin, former RBS chief, obtains super-injunction - Telegraph

I can think of a few words some would describe him as......

Sir Fred Goodwin obtained injunction 'to hide alleged affair with senior colleague' - Telegraph

Details of the draconian injunction - so strict that it prevents Sir Fred Goodwin being identified as a banker - were disclosed by Lord Oakeshott, the Liberal Democrat Peer, in a question during a debate at the House on Thursday morning. His comments are protected by parliamentary privilege.
Ben Stoneham, speaking on behalf of Lord Oakeshott, said: "Would he accept that every taxpayer has a direct public interest in the events leading up to the collapse of the Royal Bank of Scotland?
"So how can it be right for a super-injunction to hide the alleged relationship between Sir Fred Goodwin and a senior colleague. If true it would be a serious breach of corporate governance and not even the Financial Services Authority would know about it."
The Royal Bank of Scotland code of conduct recommends that staff inform management about any relationships which pose a potential conflict of interest. It is known known whether Sir Fred revealed details about the alleged relationship to the board.
The existence of the draconian injunction was first disclosed by John Hemming, a back-bench Liberal Democrat MP, on the floor of the House of Commons earlier this year. The terms of the injunction have remained secret until now.

Well he wasn't a banker was he?

My elder brother has a friend who left school and worked all his life (now retired) for Midland Bank and subsequently HSBC from the relevant takeover date.

He says that these "clowns" are NOT bankers but are just wide-boy second hand car salesmen of the very worst kind from whom you would never buy a car.

      regards

He may have been if one includes rhyming slang.:tinysmile_grin_t:

        Really?

I'd not have supposed them to be that good.

Would that have been a male or female senior colleague or, to put it another way, was the "banker" also a bender?

Under the Equality Act 2010, sexual orientation is a protected characteristic.
Compared to that, standing around 'Nero'-like, & having a fiddle while major economies are falling down around your ears is, of course, a mere trifle!!

Has anyone seen "Sir" Fred recently?

When the injunction was partly lifted, did he turn a bit queer?

Since its emergence in the English language in the 16th century (related to the German quer, meaning "across, at right angle, diagonally or transverse"), queer has generally meant "strange", "unusual", or "out of alignment". It might refer to something suspicious or "not quite right", or to a person with mild derangement or who exhibits socially inappropriate behaviour.

Have we found out who he had the affair with since the news have said that the injunction has been lifted?

Is the title 'Head' of any relevance?
