Ouch! she might have a problem with the industrial tribunal because the details of the payout were not within the public domain. However, just shows, that you have to be VERY careful what you write about work on Facebook(been there and learnt albeit not from RBS Group).
Looks like one of the collections team is moving to Birmingham.....I suspect it might be Nottingham, lol!

They sacked her for gross misconduct, they don't care about £6000.

But the question is, is such an act considered gross misconduct in law, and you could say the same with bonuses they don't care they are given even if an investment banker got it wrong to save face.

To the first part, yes. As for the second part of your reply, is it available in English?

The answer is yes it is Gross Misconduct in law since the terms of their contract involve a confidentiality agreement and she most certainly did write something on facebook that constituted Gross Misconduct.

Remember, be careful what you write about work if you have work colleagues on your friend's list on social networking sites. Not everyone is your friend on those sites and some will grass you up on the slightest whim.

Pompey, she wasn't an investment banker(can you name any investment banker's that pocketed bonuses that they were not entitled to at the time that they received them? I can't). She was off on sick leave, she boasted about the pay off but more importantly she gave out details within the public domain of things that were not already known. It was gross stupidity by her to be honest.

That attribute was probably a requirement for her job as a Debt Officer with the Bank!
