Looks like the sort of case Godzilla needs to follow carefully.

The couple accuse the bank of misappropriating child benefit paid into their joint bank account, wrongly alleging that they owed the bank money, and threatening them with legal action.
Be interesting what the full details of this are - from that it sounds like they offset money from the joint account to pay some non existent debt.

Two solicitors who were pursued by Barclays bank's debt collectors for months in error have launched a legal battle for compensation of £100,000.
Husband and wife Ronald and Dawn Mullins are suing the bank for damages after the mix-up, which led to a series of their cheques bouncing.
According to a High Court writ, among the cheques dishonoured by Barclays were ones written to pay for their two eldest daughters' school fees, the wages of their gardener and their building contractors.
They also claim the bank refused to pay cheques they had written for their mortgages with the Bristol and West Building Society and the Bank of Scotland alongside an amount for their critical illness insurers, making replacement cover more expensive.
The couple accuse the bank of misappropriating child benefit paid into their joint bank account, wrongly alleging that they owed the bank money, and threatening them with legal action.
Barclays called in debt collectors to pursue them, despite giving a written acknowledgement that they did not owe the bank anything at all, the writ claims.
Dawn Mullins, a partner in City firm Beachcrofts, and Ronald Mullins, a partner in Watmores, accuse the bank of bouncing their cheques without just cause, in breach of contract.
In 2007, they had their chief bank account and a mortgage with Barclays, and its predecessor Woolwich, on their property at Yew Cottage in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire. They have since moved to a new property elsewhere in the county.
The Mullinses say the bank's actions were defamatory and embarrassing, and caused damage to their personal finance and professional reputations.
Beachcrofts is one of the largest UK legal firms with more than 800 lawyers and 1,500 employees. Dawn Mullins specialises in insurance and professional risk, and acts for solicitors appearing before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal.
She also works on high value litigation and fraud cases, and heads a team of five lawyers.

I'm surprised they are only suing for £100K cos for a solicitor to bounce a cheque is a major no no & could have caused the LSC to step in and investigate them
