My brother recently passed away.* He originally purchased a property in 1977 but this was transferred to my parents in 1987.* He moved out of the family home for a short period of time but then returned and continued to reside there until his death in 2019.* There is no mortgage on the property although he made payments towards maintenance of the house, household bills etc.* I have now been informed that the house, even though it hasn't been in his ownership for over 30 years, will form part of his estate.* Can someone please advise as to whether this is correct.
