        From reading your email, I understand the complaints you have received have been about automated calls. We do understand that these calls can be very annoying.

        I should explain that although these automated calls aren’t necessarily illegal, they could be a breach of privacy regulations if the caller doesn’t have the consent of the person they are calling.

        If consumers are getting these kinds of calls and have not given prior permission, they can complain to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO). They are responsible for enforcing regulations in this area. The ICO can be contacted at:
