Re: Warning re:SKY HD M&S VOUCHERS OFFER

Got my HD box free but had to pay £15 for delivery of the box. OH installed the box (piece of piddle). Turned up exactly when they said it would. No vouchers cos that offer wasn't on at the time ( 3 weeks ago) but got the Sports and Movies for half price. Already have extra subscription so OH is moving the Sky+ to Jessie's room and her box to our room. Need an octo, but got one off Ebay for £21. Had to sign up to HD for 12 months.

Previously had Sky BB and phone and they were excellent, but unfortunately they made a major cok up and ended up utting me off, so had to go back to BT for line rental . My BB is now with O2, but tbh I never use O2 for email, still use my Sky account for that.

The bloke we got the octo from was a bit of a geek, sat dishes all over the place, and was telling us about Blade and Spider boxes, £310 installed, motorised dish, receives every channel from every country, get it "servered up" (his term) and pay a tenner a month. Decidedly dodgy but a major saving on Sky's prices, I suppose.

And Curly, when we first had Sky+ installed, we had the other box moved to our bedroom, still on the front of the house where the dish was, but on the opposite side ( double fronted house) He has to take it all around the front of the house and round the side to get it to where the tv was in our room. It was absolutly trashing it down with a rainstorm, and he never moaned, never complained, and just did exactly what we asked him to.

            Well all good.
The guy arrived as expected and we decided the best course of action was cable over the roof.
Makes sense as there's a number of built in cupboards and fireplaces to contend with.

He was here for a good couple of hours, full multi room setup and even a new dish and quad LNB..
All told, absolutely outstanding service, especially as it was FOC.
Now just waiting for the vouchers.

I'm liking this HD stuff, just need to rerecord the kids films and we laughing

Will all the recordings on my Sky+ box be lost then will they stay on the hard drive if I move the box to another room ?

This is all new to me just if they are lost I'd best tell the wife to watch them or lose them.

Excellent Ben glad you are happy.

                They will still be available.
The only thing that wont really function properly is Sky Anytime, if you ever bothered with it.

                    For sure.
Especially as I've had problems with Sky in the past.

Just so long as we both get our vouchers we have both been promised

Nope never bothered with anytime as you are limited to what packs you have with that anyway and if I like something ill always record it.

Enaid I would imagine quite a few people are moving services with BT's latest price increases and that on top of an already expensive service

                          Sapphire,

This is the question I am trying to find out do they have a legal obligation to supply if they where promised and were part of your order.

As you can see I have the proof in writing

Ok just tracked down my recommendation on the 23 November 2010, I've phoned Sky and moaned at them, they have now reported it to the 'Specialist Voucher Team' msl: and we should hear from them soon.
I've told them that due to the length of time we have waited they should put it up to £75 each lol, hey its worth a try isn't it.

OH installed the octo on the dish today, ran the extra cable into daughter's room, installed the Sky+ box to her tv, I rang Sky and "paired" the viewing card, and hey presto she now has full Sky+ facilities So now she can record all her crappy progs on her own box instead of taking up loads of space on ours!
Forgot to mention that when I rang to get extra room subscription a few months ago,it was on special at 4.95 a month, with no set period. When I checked with them last week, there is apparently an end date on our special offer of .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ....... 23rd August 2088.

Sky HD+ all up and running now no problems at all excellent engineer and the VOUCHERS have now been added to my order today and is being processed.

What with a nearly 3k SVR refund from Halifax today it has been a good day.
