    Hi All

Bt charge have charged £4.50 for not paying by DD, now I have noticed they have doubled this to £9. Has anyone else found this?

Their official info still quotes £1.50 a month for not paying by DD.

The fee is £4.50 for each eligible bill if you are billed quarterly or £1.50 if billed monthly.
Could have something to do with paper-free billing (ie if you dont have paper free then you pay £1.25 more a month I think) ?

Well that was on the last BT invoice that I paid by cheque. It was though a business account would and should that make a difference and how do they get away with charging £9.

It certainly does not cost them that to administer them banking a cheque IMHO,

        business accounts...yes its £9

You'll save £36 per year, per bill, if you switch to paper-free billing OR by changing the way you pay to Direct Debit or Monthly Payment Plan, you'll save on the payment processing fee, which is now £9 per quarter, per bill.
        Pretty disgusting really isn't it.
