BG have totally wrecked my gas boiler with their unimpressive service team, fitted a separate pressure vessel on the wall rather than replace the one inside, which is so very noisy, the boiler clunks and the pipes in the house whine and whistle but ho hum - expect they want me to take up their very expensive quote to replace. Have now applied for the Green Deal and waiting to hear. I wonder why Ofgem allow a paid service business to refuse their customers a statement of credits and debits - couldn't see the banks being able to get away with that! Or are we prepay customers too low on the scale.
I can't remember but have you been in touch with your MP? They are taking the biscuit, eating it and leaving the crumbs under your pillow. Time you put your size 14 with steel toecaps and rusty nails in the sole on and go berserk. If you give a brief summary of where you are with everyone you've been in touch with we can start drafting a few s**tstirring letters.

Hi - yes, good idea as I am ready to take this up a level. I will get together a list to start with and post it up hopefully by end of weekend. Meantime back at the freezing ranch.... spoke to BG today - prepay dept: they admit that they have not sent the top up device for use at home and it is being sent out today and they didn't send it before because "they didn't have any boxes" :noidea::noidea:

Haven't heard of the forum or poster. As CC says, he sounds like a right banker (typo error).

Everything is making sense now. Yes. I have come across Climate. Nasty little ****. Winds up everyone on the forum you mention with their spiteful and unhelpful comments. There are a lot of good people on that forum as there are on LB. Another one to watch out for is Sgt Bush. I've had a few run-ins with them.

HI -haven't been able to get into this case lately as been on training through work program but, needless to say, BG have not sent me the rest of the info re their costs. I have noted that they have updated their website for topping up keys and cards for prepay customers and they now send an emailed receipt - whoopee, but, this still does not allow customers to see what the meter has taken towards debt and gas. I have now received my usb device, which only took since November 2012, and have had a call from BG to say that it might not work as not all their customers are on the system yet. lol

When you have time get all the documents in order and BG (with their colossal profits) may have to respond to a few letters.

thanks, I am under so much pressure with these cases, been into court twice since I was on here before, and will do this work re BG but more pressing now is Anglian Water - priorities keep changing and trying to help a friend with a work issue and acas disciplinary things, must stop taking on others stuff for now. thanks

                        Hi there

I am in a similar position with BG, and would like to offer you some support. I can only make suggestions as my own situation is not yet resolved, so I don't yet know if anything I have done is actually going to work!

I have found it incredibly difficult to deal with this, but I don't have the other problems that you do, so I absolutely take my hat off too you for sticking with it.

The idea of getting all the paperwork together can be quite overwhelming, but you can do it a bit at a time, and it will make you feel empowered, try this.

First grab 30 mins to an hour, and imagine you are in that court with a chance to tell the magistrate why they shouldn't grant that warrant. What would you say? Write it down.

Next time you get a chance, sit down with your notes from last time and your heap of papers from BG, try to find 1 document to back up each point you have made. Number the points, and the documents to match, and put them in a folder/envelope/plastic bag of their own.

Final go, get your flie/envelope/plastic bag, and rewrite you notes into a statement referencing each document as you go. Put your documents in number order with your statement on the top and clip the lot together.

This gives you a summary of your situation together with evidence without having to sort out every last piece of paperwork, and is plenty to get a case started with the ombudsman. If you can establish that your account was reasonably disputed, you can ask the ombudsman to make BG give you back any charges related to chasing the alleged debt.

You need a 'deadlock letter', but BG try not to deadlock accounts so don't use the D word. Write to a named person at BG stating that as your complaint has remained unresolved for a considerable period of time you now request that they state their full and final position. You shuld then get a letter back which concludes 'You may consider this our final position' That is the magic expression the ombudsman wants. It is just possible one of the letters you already have contains the magic words, so worth just checking that.

One word of warning, Consumer Focus do not deal with deadlocked accounts, so if they are still working on your behalf you will need to wait until they are done before you ask for that letter.

Personally I have given up hope of getting any sense out of BG or the court, but have my fingers crossed for the ombudsman.

I am no expert in any of this, so please don't rely on what I say and make your own checks on anything you are unsure of. (I don't know how to add one of those disclaimer things some people put on every post!)

I'll keep an eye on how you're doing, Good Luck

Hi - many thanks for that ST. I just don't get enough time for these things but, in the interim, here is a link for Siemens, the guys who have the data and send it on to the suppliers, I am going to do a SAR on them to find out how much my meter is really sending weekly as it certainly isn't the £3.55 set by the government...
I don't like their statement about importing, validating, cleansing and processing our data!

what - like a blot on the landscape...

rang BG today to try to get the details of money for debt v money for gas etc etc - still no luck with that, but, was told that my consumption is £1.50 per day ! ludicrous ! - it costs me £1.30 a day just to have the pilot on. I only had £1.50 on the meter at 3.15 pm and it cut off at around 7 pm tonight so there it is very clear to me what it is costing.

                                3:15pm to 7pm is 3.75 hours

If £1.50 of gas lasted for 3.75 hours, then 24 hours at the same rate of consumption would cost:
                                (24/3.75)*1.5 = £9.60

Either the meter is most egregiously wrong or someone is stealing gas from you!
