e-on gas prepayment meter in credit!

can anyone help me. i have been with e-on on pre payment meters for 7 years and have bills showing im in credit over £250 so i phoned for money to be credited to my bank account but they say must be mistake as dont get in credit on meters ,but i have built up credit over 7 years and must of been on wrong tariff but if i have in black and white can i insist on money back???

Put it in writing that you want the credit refunding, its no use phoning, theres no paper trail. Include a copy of the bill showing you are in credit

What is the reading on the meter?

Did you have a previous debt your were paying off through the meter ?

You can get in credit on meters - just keep putting £10 on and using £5 so they are full of poop - but it would just show on the meter front.

You can get in Debt on prepay meters too - as if you run out of electric and don't top it back up they do keep adding their standing charges on - but again that also shows on the front of the meter.

If the meter says different to the £250 you believe you should be in credit then we might need to see one of your bills to work out whats happening.
