  • Threatened to move me onto a more expensive plan because I switched from DD to SO

    Hi all,

I have an account with OutfoxTheMarket for gas and electric and am in approx £800 arrears due to COVID, redundancy and lack of work.

We had an agreement to pay £50pcm by DD, and this was fine for a few months. Out of the blue I discovered they took £435 from my account. I was able to retrieve the funds that day thanks to a very helpful bank advisor.

I cancelled the DD and created a Standing Order for £50pcm to show I was not avoiding payment.

They have since written threatening to move me to a more expensive tariff if I do not reinstate the DD and have asked for copies of my bank statements.

I have refused this request and shown proof of my Universal Credit, to me it's none of their business what I do with my money and only a court can request this.

Where do I stand with the SO and refusal to provide statements and reinstate the DD?

    any help greatly appreciated, cheers

You need to keep all communications with your energy supplier in writing, you could amend the following letter -

      https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/co...ergy-supplier/

      https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/information...r-energy-bills
