        Re: PC Turns itself off

sounds like it is overheating. are the fans working? have you got items around it?
the problem with overheating is that the slightest silliest thing can add to the temperature by a tiny amount but put it to the temperature it shuts down.

I have a laptop that does this so I prop a book underneath to allow it to keep a bit cooler! Not very techie I know, but it works.

Is it just GTA that causes the shutdown?

Its very likely, as other point out, thermal protection on the cpu. GPU (graphics) overheating wont shutdown the PC, itll just slow itself down to a crawl. If your CPU is overclocked, your thermal range is going to be much tighter than it would be if it were not..

I know it may sound silly, but undo the fan from the heatsink and get all the fluff out from between the heatsink blades. A clean paintbrush and the hose from the hoover will work well.

Next thing to do is find what type of CPU you have, then go to the manufacturers website and find the normal operating temperature range then check what the CPU thermal protection is set to in the BIOS. Ive had people bring pcs to me doing the same only to find later a friend/child/whoever has fiddled with bios settings and set the cpu thermal protection/power down to something that you can hit when using the computer.

Just to make sure its nothing dodgy, i advise malwarebytes antimalware. Its free and is great at detecting viruses.
Advice given is offered as personal opinion only. I always recommend you seek professional legal advice.
