The only way for people here to assess things properly is to see a copy of the contract you signed. You can always negotiate the amount with him but if he stands his ground and won't accept a lower amount on discussion then you really (based on what you have said) don't have a leg to stand on to avoid paying and if he went to court for the success fee as agreed in the contract it is very likely he would win.

He laughed,half expected it though.
he gave me a 650 pound sub off my reward,so i guess my daughter will be on phone to go shopping.

As has been said many times, few things are certain.

However, based on what has been said, of one thing I am certain the Ombudsman is not going to come to your aid.

If matters were so simple and straightforward, a) why didn't you deal with it yourself, and b) why did you AGREE to your solicitors fee being 25% of any compensation recovered. (It is not a "reward"!).

How would you have felt if having agreed to 25% your solicitor had said, sorry, was more complex than I thought, I want 50%.

A) Would be impossible with my disability.Have not been educated enough.i thought these cases went befor judges and guys in white wigs so it put me off.
b)+c} The max he could claim from damages in RTA is capped at 25%,i signed because i was a skint fool.

Afraid I have no answer for that. Just take what is on offer - save yourself grief
