Supply them with details of the gearbox supplier and have no further contact with the buyer as posted earlier.

Ok the latest twist is that they are saying they will have repairs carried out on the van and take me to the small claims court to recover the costs.
That is costs to fix the adviseries the gearbox and the cost of the tow truck they had to pay! This is almost 6 months down the line after they bought the vehicle.
Im not really sure how to respond to this or how worried i should be.

What is the likely outcome of such a claim in a small claims court?

You should not be worried at all. Ignore any further direct contact from them, if they wish to take the matter to court then let them. In my opinion, including your "reconditioned gearbox fitted" advertisement, you have no case to answer. Ignore them and do not worry. In the unlikely event you do receive court papers then you will be able to easily defend.

I believe this is not the only issue you are having with selling goods..
I bought a van from you last year and from your description, it's was a "just drive away van" but turned out to be a nightmare as i already told you over the phone last year and recently by mail..
many issues with the van with:

Brakes,
Leaking hoses which cause the fire (the engine broke down followed by a fire on the motorway driving back to France with a pregnant women and a one year old baby),
Hidden rust with fibberglass
Electronic connectics hazardous..etc

I did ask you before travelling from France if the bus was safe and you did reply positively but it turned out to be far from the truth....

You should be ashamed of yourself, this only to gain a shameful 6000 euros...

Nice story but how do YOU know that jim is the same person since there are no identifying markers in his post. He doesn't say he sells things wholesale, he doesn't state anything other than this one isolated issue.
You are either (a) extremely good at guessing or (b) talking utter nonsense simply because you can. Any chance of an explanation?

Anyway, there aren't many people with a pseudo Jimboafro from any public website (Ebay, Yootube, etc) that are involved in VW bus and all..
