  • Voluntary termination - have they forgotten to bill me?

Almost 3 weeks ago I handed my car back under a voluntary termination.

The car was inspected and collected, with an estimated £500 of damage/repair costs. I disagreed.

I also owed a few hundred pounds to reach the 50% threshold, as well as a small charge for excess miles.

The car has since been and gone from the website of the auction house that inspected and collected the car.

The finance agreement is closed on my credit report.

The finance companycompany's website says I should've heard about my final liability within 14 days of the collection.

Have they forgotten about me and closed my agreement prematurely? I'm certainly not going to remind them.

You aren't required to remind them but as only 3 weeks has gone by they probably will pop up with the bill in the coming weeks.

And if I just ignore it completely? The agreement is already closed in my credit file?

I fully intended to refuse to pay a thing beyond the 50%, but now I dont know whether to just completely ignore any further comms.

Nothing to stop them posting a default if you don't pay the final.invoice.

Sorry but I don't understand your reasons for ignoring future comms.

Ah ok, I mistakenly thought they couldn't negatively impact my credit file now that the agreement is closed.

I shall wait to see what they send, and object to any liability beyond 50%.
