    Morning all.

new to the site but been a reader of the posts for a while now and now I need some help.

I currently have a vehicle on lease through BPF and am 3 years into a 4 year lease of which I have paid over the 50% so can VT.

Today I have spoke with BPF and asked to VT my account and was told they will post the paperwork out today.
I was informed I will have a compulsory £30 admin fee for this .

I was informed I will have to sign the paperwork and sent it back then can either drop the car at my nearest Mannheim auction house which is in Leeds, 60 miles away or arrange collection at £150

I want rid of the car asap as the next payment is due out around the 29th or a so of this month so around 15 days time.

the vehicle I have in is good condition. It was 12 months old when I leased it and am on a 10000 miles PA lease of which I have done only 15000 in 3 years! So well under!

can I ask for help in what i do next? Do I need to sign this paperwork?
do I need to drop it off or can I request they pick it up for free?

at which point do I cancel my direct debit as I could do with the money for the first payment on a van I need.

any help would be greatfully appeciated!

    thanks in advance

    Neil.

As of this afternoon, 1520hrs. I have used the template on this site to email BPF.

csn anyone clarify if that is me done with them now? No more payments? Direct debit cancelled etc?

What will happen now? I wait the 14 days as stated in the letter to hear from them? Will they collect the car?
obviously I will get their letter asking me to pay for collection etc. Am i right in thinking I don't sign anything.

    cheers

Tagging R0b for you but it sounds like you have done right and just wait to hear back from them now about collection. I believe, as you have already paid over 50% and notified of the VT you can cancel your DD, but wait for R0b to look in and confirm.

          Hello

I would probably allow 48 hours, chase it up with BPF and you could cancel your DD from there, assuming your notice of termination said that you are terminating with immediate effect.
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you

            Hi ROB,

the is for the reply and advice.

this is what I emailed BPF via their contact page.
            .
            Dear Sir / Madam,

TERMINATION OF AGREEMENT PURSUANT TO S.99
OF THE CONSUMER CREDIT ACT 1974

            Agreement number: ?!?!?!?!?!?!
            Registration: ?!?!?!?!

I am writing to notify you that I wish to invoke my statutory right under section 99 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and hereby give you notice that the agreement is terminated effective immediately from the date of this letter. Please confirm by return acknowledgement of this letter and to make arrangements for collection of the vehicle.

The condition of the car is noted as being in a reasonable condition for its age and photographic evidence has been taken in the event of any future dispute as to the condition of the vehicle.

You will be aware that the Consumer Credit Act limits my liability to half of the total amount payable under the agreement but excludes any sum payable as a penalty, compensation or damages for a breach of the terms of the agreement. Such terms imposed are inconsistent with my rights under the Act and are therefore deemed void and unenforceable.

The vehicle is now available for collection and I would be grateful if you could contact me on ?!??!?!?!??!? to arrange a suitable time within the next 14 days.

            Yours faithfully,

I have removed any personal details obviously for this post. Basically it's exactly as per the template you have provided .

is this ok and have I done the correct procedure?

What will happen next? Any idea?

            cheers.

rob I have just contacted BPF regarding the email I sent and had it been received and was informed not yet and nothing was shown on my account.

The call handler informed me that the account had been Vt'd yesterday by telephone and the information had been posted to me. She insisted that I had to sign and return them to themselves.

I asked if I was now able to cancel the direct debit and was informed "Yes, you can now cancel it" and was informed that although that's cancelled you are still liable to pay for any damages etc to the vehicle.

Now I am at the stage of the point of cancelling the DD. I am wanting rid of the car asap. I'm thinking to just give it a wash and Hoover and drop it at the auction house. Get then to sign the v5c and that's it. All done.

am I right in thinking this or do You reckon Il come across a pitfall?
