The problem I have is I bought a car from Welcome finance 2 years ago. I had it over 4 years but was told I could trade it in after 2 years. I am just paying my 25th instalment tomorrow, never missed a payment. Rang them today to say I wanted to trade the car in, hopefully for something cheaper - am paying £360. per month. They told me I couldnt trade it in for at least another 6 - 12 months as the car is only worth about 2 grand to them. I dug out the agreement and wondered if I had cause for complaint. The agreement doesn't state what type of agreement it is only it is a regulated agreement so I dont know if it is a HP or CS. Also it doesn't state anything on there about my right to terminate - I thought I could terminate after I had paid 50% of the total balance - which I have. I have never received a statement from them. Anyone any ideas. I dont want to pay another 8K for a car thats only worth 2K. Thanks
