**WON!!!!!** County Court claim letter over parking fines

Hi everyone, first time poster in urgent need of advice and/or help!

I've received a 'claim form' from Northampton County Court Business Centre over unpaid parking fines I've had over the period of a year. In total there are 9 'fines' that UK Parking Control Ltd are trying to get me to pay for and I've ignored each one thinking that they would simply go away (as can happen).

However, I have no received a letter from SCS Law stating that they have issued a 'Particulars of Claim' to reclaim their costs of £980.00.

I would really appreciate some advice as to what to do here, as, after reading through the forums, they are quite confusing and complex.

I've also contacted Private Parking Appeals.

Any ideas?

You have a court claim. If you want help then you are going to have to furnish some details. If we have no idea what the claim is, how do you expect help from anyone ?

Here are some details:

I have received 9 PCN's over the period of 12 months from UKPC after parking on a private car park at Coventry University, where I used to work. I simply parked on said car park as it was the closest car park to my building where I was based.

The car park in question was an uneven and rocky car park in which there where no clear parking bays/markings and on many occasions of using the car park, the pay metre was broken and didn't read either a student card or a staff card (had to validate it so you could pay). I chose not to pay on these occasions as I was either in a rush, or simply didn't have time.

I chose to ignore the PCN's as I thought this would make them go away. I then received strongly worded letters which I no longer have, that stated that I then had to pay even more money in fines as I hadn't coughed up what I 'owed'.

I have no received a county court claim and particulars from UKPC and SCS Law to say that they're taking me to court to get their 'costs' from me.

Reading these forums, I have noticed that there are many people on here who have chosen to defend themselves, stating that there isn't a 'contract' between themselves and the private parking company who have issued their PCN's and won.

I would like some advice on how to build a defence and the correct approach to take.

You're only supposed to park there if you pay. No permits are issued there.
