• County Court Business Centre - Gladstones Solicitors Limited work carpark

Hi all....

PLEASE HELP!!!

So back in March 2017 my works business centre implemented a parking permit system where you needed a pass to be able to park anywhere in the business centre. Only directors and managers got these passes, office staff didnt. Its an over populated centre, with people parking all over the place because there are limited spaces, so you can imagine this change annoyed alot of people. When the new system was implemented they put small signs up saying fines will be issued if you dont show a pass. After reading a lot of online conversations on popular forums regarding private parking companies, it was clear that if a ticket was issues then it was an 'invoice' and not a fine, so it didn't have to be taken seriously! I mainly got parking tickets for parking in spaces without a parking pass. After 7 months and over 15 unpaid tickets later, i have had a letter from the County Court Business Centre saying i owe money and need to act. After looking on the internet it now seems this letter needs to be taken seriously! Today on Mon 9th Oct, i have completed the Acknowledgment of Service giving me extra time. What will happen next and what do i have to do?

Any help is more than welcome. If you require any more information, please ask.

What (if anything) does your contract of employment say about parking facilities?
Were you given written notification about the new parking regime?

Imho the sign is 'forbidding'.
It might be useful to read a fairly recent county court judgement, particularly at paras 18-20.

Hi charitynjw! We're were notified that the parking company was being enforced before they started but there is nothing in our employment contract regarding parking. We got sent the attached email last week regarding the parking. Im not sure how they know you havent been there parked for 30min prior to giving you a ticket because they just walk past our cars and ticket them straight away.

Believe the Defence will be due on this today - issue date was 4th October and claim was acknowledged. What do you think charitynjw ostell ?

Best thing to do is to call them to confirm 100%. I have done a couple of times for mine and they are really helpful.

I called 03001231056 and gave them my case number. Once you ID&V they can tell you everything you need to know!

Best of luck

Re: County Court Business Centre - Gladstones Solicitors Limited work carpark

We need to know a great deal more. For instance:-

Is the vehicle on HP/Mobility etc? (ie do you own it &/or are the registered keeper?)
Were PCNs attached to the vehicle? If so, post them up (obscure personal info, leave dates visible.)
Do you have the first Notices to Keeper for each of the 3 relevant incidents mentioned on the claim form?
(We don't know for certain yet if they are claiming against the registered keeper or against the driver (even if it does happen to be the same person.)
If you have them, post them up (front & rear, obscure personal info but leave all dates visible.)
Any idea who owns the land?
