  • letter threatening a CCJ from DCB Legal regarding 4 fines from travelodge car park

Hi, can someone please assist me with a letter that I have received from DCB Legal threatening a CCJ. I have to respond by 2nd October 2024.

1 year ago i was staying at travelodge hotel in ilford, london.

Every day i would validate my parking using my mothers disabled badge which made the parking free, I would do this by calling assistance at the pay machine and showing them the badge through the camera, they would then validate the parking and I would drive out.

The letter I received is showing 4 fines and I believe this may be 4 days that I forgot to validate the parking using the disabled badge. I stayed for over a month at the hotel so there will be many other days that my parking was validated with the disabled badge.

I spoke to DCB Legal today to explain this and they said forgetting to validate means the fines are still liable to pay and the only options are either paying the full amount (£877) or going to court

Can anyone please advise on what I can do?

I have read other cases on here and you guys are amazing!

I hope someone can help me with this.

My first call would be to the manager at Travelodge and ask him to instruct the parking company to order DCBLegal to discontinue their action. After all you spent a month there and if they expect more business from you or your colleagues/family you anticipate they will want to assist ... there is always the threat of poor Trustpilot posts!

Doesn't matter what you say to DCBLegal, all they want is your money.

Did you receive any parking charge notices from the parking company ... you should have four?
If you do please post up a redacted photo, but leave in all dates and times.

I don't suppose you have any photos of the parking signs, but can you get one?
If not please give us the travelodge address so we can try other avenues.
