This might appear to be one of the most stupid questions placed on this or any forum, but believe me there are very strong reasons for asking.
If a council lawyer goes to court with a statutory court order saying a person owes council tax, and documents are placed before a court giving evidence of this owed council tax, then legally this is council tax, right? And therefore any cash paid, legally belongs to said council and no argument, again right?
Money was paid by the way. Just in case anyone is scratching their heads, this involves fraud.
