Our landlord has given us notice to move from the two bedroom flat we live in. We have two children, girl and boy, both at senior school who share a single bedroom.
Question is, how do we get to find a three bedroom house to rent, when we have an old chequered credit file and everything is so expensive now? We have lived here for about five years when rents were a lot less than they are now.
We owe money to a housing association from about five years ago and haven't been able to repay it. My wife's credit file is almost clean with only a couple of defaults to fall off. She has managed a couple of credit cards well and her credit file says she has "fair" credit rating.
Will we end up homeless because we cannot afford the higher rents or is there anything we can do?
Thanks
