  • Solicitor costs

    Hi,

I'm intending to use legal insurance to help resolve a property dispute. The associate solicitor I have been appointed by my insurance company has an hourly rate of £290+VAT (NW England). Is this a fairly standard rate? It sounds expensive given I assumed insurance companies would negotiate good rates with their panel?

    Thanks,

    Re: Solicitor costs

It does sound around the right area, though I'd expect it be be more around the £245 + VAT level.

Does your legal insurance cover pay for all the solicitors costs whether you win or lose the dispute?
