You're in a secured tenancy place Froot,,,get on to your Housing Officer and kick up a stink,it's their bloody property,they are responsible for stuff like this.
I did,,,and they soon fitted extractor fans in my kitchen and bathroom and are putting a tricklevent in my conservatory.
Of course,,it helps your case to be rehoused too,,noone should be forced to live in damp properties(especially with young kids) in this day and age.

Good girl,,,start a new regime of taking no crap from anyone. Your rent is paid and you don't have to put up with this. I'm my Housing Officers nightmare because I cleverly made friends with the HA Surveyor...when I make a request it's normally quickly dealt with.

The pictures look like some problems with the roof or maybe even just the guttering. Air changes and alterations to properties are moisture causing problems just as much as bad maintenance and lifestyle. What is a problem in one house isn't necessarily a problem in another so just because you have the same lifestyle when you move doesn't mean it wasn't the cause in your previous address. Some really old properties where never designed to be heated to the extent they are now which causes problems. Some properties would have a lot of natural ventilation due to adventitious air, all the normal draughts from dad windows, doors, floors and the like. People fit new windows and doors, carpets and underlay and insulation without a thought about ventilation. Properties kept at a hot temperature can cause a form of thermal inversion where hot rises upstairs to escape from poorly sealed loft hatches or open windows. This air has to be replaced hence the cold air gets pulled in from somewhere else, draughts. There are a lot of theories that modern air tight houses are the causes of respiratory disease's and they are constantly trying to get the right amount of air changes into a property but without losing too much of the heat you have paid to produce hence system's like the nuaire system. In essence there is no clear cut answer to damp problems because there are so many different factors that will be specific to each case, some are lifestyle, some are structural and some are a combination of them both. Going back to those pictures though they look more like roofing problems.

In that case, it sounds like the roof may not be totally water tight, that is a much more plausible explanation than condensation from inside.

What sort of construction is the property? solid single brick or cavity?
If it's solid brick or stone (like MissFM's or mine) you will have constant problems and have to learn to minmise them.
With old properties a lot of problems are caused by portland cement rendering. After a few years it develops cracks which allow water penetration. Also that lovely pink plaster inside makes a superb condensation plate.
The best way to deal with those problems is to strip back to original stonework and re render & plaster with lime based products. That allows building to breath and (in my experience) stops penetrating damp and reduces condensation problems.
To "waterproof" and "insulate" an old solid stone house only causes problems.
To an extent the same applies to solid (non cavity walls) brick houses.

Jot down the suggestions of what 'might' be causing it Froot and get to the Council,,also look up your local MP and contact him/her too with a brief outline of your 'housing'issues,,the Council need a kick up the backside.
You've turned a new page in your life,,now start making things happen,,starting with the damp problems..it's disgusting and you shouldn't have to put up with it,,I wouldn't.
