Would you please update with further details and your current status.

First of all have you managed to get temporary accommodation for your local authority and DWP? If not you should visit your housing office ASAP. Getting emergency housing will depend on if you are working and your income and they may tell you to rent privately.

Exactly how much equity do you have in the property?

What type of mortgage do you have and who sold it to you?

Do you have all your paperwork?

It all depends on what you want to do and you my need to spend a couple of hundred pounds on proper legal advice.
I am not a legal professional

I will only comment and give advice in situations which I have experience that has been gained over the years in pre legal negotiation and redress. At the end of the day when there is a legal situation of life changing or serious consequence, always and I mean always seek professional advice from a solicitor.

^^^^ or get free legal advice from Shelter on their Helpline 0808 800 4444.

Here is some information from Shelter on how to get rehoused. If you have a child (and you do) you should be considered as being in priority need. This may be a B&B at first but the Local Authority has an obligation to move you to permanent housing after six weeks maximum.
