  • Maruvian v GE Money

First of all sorry if i have posted in the wrong forum, please feel free to move the thread.

I had a mortgage with IGroup which was then taken over by GE money. The account is now closed and has been for over two years. I recently sent a SAR to GE Money and as it turns out there are a lot of charges that i think are re-claimable. The questions are can i claim for administration charges and DD recall charges.

I have never done anything like this before and i am not sure about the process and i am not sure if i can claim on a closed account. I have had many battles with DCA's but never anything like this. Any advise will be greatly appricated.

yes you can You can claim on the closed account, actually it is preferable for mortgage accounts as they can't play silly buggers and risk your home.

Its same process as for loans and credit card late payments, have a look at the templatey letters in the guides and amend to suit.

DD Recall I think would be a definate penalty so yes reclaimable - not sure on administartion charges - depends what was being administered ?

Thanks for your reply only just got in from work. The administration charges are £40.00 each and this is from when the account was in arrears.
