I don't really want to start conversations with them, to be honest - maybe I'm just a coward - they probably know the law better than I do & I'm too old for all this.

They can't get in unless they break in (locks changed) - I just won't answer the door if anybody starts knocking on it.
If you find it all too much, you still have 'Rights', just speak to CAB etc.

If you do not write they will start legal proceedings. As we have said they will probably fail. If you make a reasonable offer in writing now you can submit a copy to the court which would improve your chances of remaining in my view. Doing nothing is an option but I do not think it is the best one.

If I had the Landlords address, I'd happily write to him saying that we want to move to get our own place but it'll take time.

The "agents" who have knocked on the door before & sent a letter trying to double the rent etc.? I have the feeling they're not proper agents at all, just some rent-a-thugs who sent a letter (no proper letterhead or anything, just typed as it would be on a Word document).

I don't want to contact the "agents" to get the Landlords address, because that would, in my opinion, just open the floodgates for them to keep turning up saying they want to inspect the property.

I'm just doing my own head in worrying.

All we need is time so we can find our own place after I get the money from my step-mums will.

Sorry - I worry too much.

Did you download the owners details from the landregistry? Costs just a few quid and is super easy. Write to whoever is named and to the agent separately.

You have been told at least three times I can recall how to get their address.

If you do nothing they will commence proceedings and if you ignore those the landlord will get a possession order, doing nothing is not going to reduce the worry and you'd do well to start taking some action rather than posting the same things on here repeatedly.
