      A lot of the Republic's law is similar to the UK (as it was broadly derived from it) and your solicitor will be able to guide you on how to regain the money you have paid out, if it is feasible.
      However as you have probably guessed by now, it is unlikely that any one on this site will have the appropriate knowledge to advise you.

        Any option to pull out of the purchase under the contract signed in such circumstances? I had a similar experience before with graffiti being written on the building and having a coffin left at the door. I was able to get the contract rescinded and didn't have to go ahead with the purchase. I got advice from a solicitor on it but to be honest can't remember his name. I was put in contact by the Irish Claims Authority (https://claimsauthority.ie) about them.
