  • Do I have any rights??

    Hi all.
I live in a small cottage, sublet with permission from the local large rural estate from the tenant of larger farm, which is its self is rented from the same large rural estate. I also separately sublet a small shed and a defined part of the yard on the farm for storage and have had it for the past 4 years, all with no problems for anybody. My direct landlord has not had his lease renewed on the farm, and it has been given to a new tenant, whilst my house (and another neighbours) have been taken back into direct control of the estate and we both have a new tenancy agreement direct with them.

Thats all fine, my problem is the estate want me to give my shed back to the new farm tenant, who had verbally agreed I could keep it on when they took over. The estate says they are no longer happy with the subletting arrangements and the new tenant now actively wants to make use of my shed. I have a meeting with the Estate land agent tomorrow. Do I have any rights regarding the occupation of my shed?

I'm a newcomer to this forum and am just as interested as yourself in the inroads and options of such a case. How did your hearing go?

Not my sphere, but t seems to me if you have a tenancy agreement it can't just be torn up because it doesn't suit the new management*

I'm afraid non residential property carries no rights/protections. So long as the new landlord follows the correct process of giving you notice, there is little you can do to stop the estate from doing what they wish with buildings and structures on its land. How did the meeting go?
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

Thanks. The estate have offered me a (larger and more expensive) shed relatively locally. It has gone from the previously informal arrangement to involving VAT and a 3 year lease with 12 month break clauses. I am currently in negotiations to try to bring the cost down as I feel the goalposts have been moved and it is an enforced relocation through no fault of my own . Thanks for your reply.*
