  • I want the property but not the planning that goes with it

If I buy a property with planning permission can I ignore the planning or change the planning? Or does it have to be upheld?

You don't have to use the planning permission for which has already been obtained - often sellers will obtain planning for certain schemes hoping that it will increase the value to sell with the permission in place. It also gives an indication to the buyer that planning may be available for similar ( or entirely different ) schemes.
