Re: Client taking me to small claims for Web Development work completed!

    Hi,

No I have no written contract with the client. I have tried my best to resolve this with the client and they sent me a list minor things they wanted doing. I completed these and then sent them an update with everything that was completed.

Then I waited 10 days and only got a reply today and now again they are saying they now wish me to not do any more changes and they are taking me to small claims for all monies paid.

I have been clear and upfront with them from the beginning and its a joke that I should now have to deal with this. In there last email they also stated the site is not of commercial standard, which is ridiculous to say.

What kind of chance do you think I stand based on the information provided? Do I need to seek legal advise as this would cost me money?

If you need more details please let me know

I think you should respond in writing laying out the things you have told us, about their server issues and how on your own server it loads properly. If you draft something we can look it over and I would keep things in writing from now on. List their points they are complaining about and put factual answers to each point raised.

What exactly do they mean when they say commercial standard can you be a bit more specific? are they referring to your work as per what they requested? Lack of traffic coming to the site or things along those lines? or is it simply due to the server performance issues?

If you like, you can PM the website URL to me and i will give you my views on whether the site is up to commercial standards or not. Don't worry, i won't reveal the URL or company details to anyone.
