Defamation

I'm a health care professional who has uncovered many incidents of harm, some threatening life and limb ....carried out by unregulated persons. I started a petition calling for better legislation and describing the types of training ie eBay £29 that these people may have . I have since been sent a legal letter by a big training form threatening high court ...and stating that I have been defamatory and posted malicious falsehoods. I have never mentioned any group or individual in the petition and was simply calling for better legislation

I have removed the petition as best I could at their request within 7 days from 9th . ...i have removed more text from my website and I have had another letter within the 7 days threatening again



I'm concerned as I am a healthcare professional that they also want me to sign a gagging order ... this goes against my principles and code of conduct



They have also posted partial details of their legal letter in an internet forum

Please help .

I'm not legally qualified, but it seems to me that if you are not mentioning them or naming their courses then you can't be defaming them. It might be pertinent to post a copy of the text here you wrote on your site and the petition along with suitably redacted copy of the letter to allow others to advise.

Perhaps face to face legal advice might be more applicable given the potential implication and costs of whats being threatened.
