  • PKeas Getting Fit Plan and losing Weight - Men can do it too

OK, I think this is sometimes a bit of a Taboo area with men.
    Losing weight and dieting.
I am the first to admit I eat junk but I don't eat well sometimes, curries every other night, lager every night
    .
So me and Kelly have decided we are going to get fit, lose weight and get toned up for our hols and get back into my fit body I had 5 years ago.

So to try and help me and persuade others that its not that bad, I willpost a no holds barred diary of this, in an attempt to shame myself and help others.

    Day 1 Monday 7th January 2008

    Weigh In: 13stone
    Height: 5'10

Exercise program tonight was Vicky Entwistle Weight Off Workout, which I must admit is quite good for men as the majority of the main workout is boxing style exercises.
Anyway I am knackered now, and my knee is killing.

Ok Kelly and myself have done the 'before' pics, and believe youme, you see your body in a totally different view through the camera.

I will not post them on here, so as not to offend anyone, but I may post them at the end to show before and after.

Posting the pics will also encourage you to work harder so you can post the 'after' pics ;-)

Right its exercise night again tonight.

Not sure what exercise dvd it will be though.

The exercise bit I am ok with, its the stop snacking that is the hard part.

i have the same problem with snacking, since i stopped smoking 14months ago i cant have lunch without a kit kat or something after, and after tea its cakes sweets anything i can get my hands on, i watched a program the other night that said there are 2million americans who weigh over 40st, that is incredible (but enough to make me feel positively skinny ;-).

Thank you Pkea for not putting the pictures on here! :okay:

Good luck with the weight loss and fitness programme.

              Best wishes,
              Hod....Liam..

BTW; you're only a stone heavier than me, it's the three inches shorter where your problem lies, try and grow rather than lose weight.

Well it was Davina DVD last night, which is totally different to Vicky.

Althought she irritates the hell out of me at the best of times, let alone when she telling you how to exercise.
There is a lot of leg and stomach work in this one, and is more toning mixed with fat burning.
It is not as high impact on the joints, which is where my problems lie due to various sporting injuries occured in my youth.

                  Ok

Its was Davina again tonight, and I am slowly getting used to the workout now.

There are a few moves which my brain can't compute yet (due to Police training) and I end up looking like a wasp is chasing me, but overall I'm getting there.

A lot of the warm up exercises tend to be the same everywhere, obviously they work so why change them.

Not done another weigh in yet, which is probably best as I haven't really changed my diet that much except I have had a few alcohol free nights and my curry intake has been drastically reduced.

Its my stomach that really needs the work, as the rest of me is pretty reasonable.

I blame the change of jobs, and quiting smoking for my initial downfall, as until then I couldn't put on weight to save my life.

Also no Policing anymore knocks out what bit of exercise I used to get.
There's nowt like chasing little gits up and the place to keep you in trim.

Anyway weigh in again next week, and I'm starving now

Well Its weigh in night, but no exercise due to Amelia cutting a tooth and crying most of the evening,
although running up and down the stairs is good exercise too

                    Anyway back to the weight

                    2lbs LOST
                    now 12st 12lb

Well it was another 90 mins of torture, I mean exercise, last night and my body is slowly
                        remembering what it is.
I am getting more use to the program now and slowly I am getting better at the exercises.

To be honest I didnt think i was that bad, I was always involved in sport till throughout most of my life, and didnt think i had let my bosy slip that much.
But apparnetly I have, While it may be good on the outside, its the insde that needs the attention.

Anyway onwards and upwards and I will get my six pack back....eventually

Well it was weigh in last night and unfortunatly I put a pound back on.
I know why I did as well.
Only did 1 session last week instead of 3
Had more alcohol and food (well it was my birthday)

So over the next week ive got to get rid of that pound as well as some more.

At 5'10" and 13 stone I am surprised that you are bothered at all - that is not exactly grossly overweight and, as much as BMI is useful, it is only barely over the recommendation of 25.

Of much greater importance is your body composition, how much of your 13 stone is fat?

Incidentally, my BMI suggests that I am clincially obese.
