I split up with my husband a few month ago. Due to lies and his debt issues. I'm going to see a solicitor as no other option. He has got into a great deal of debt nothing to do with me all his name behind my back. I have closed joint account so I'm not connected with him financially at all. The problem is constant debt letters coming. I've had baliffs in the past too before he left. I'm living at the house he's living elsewhere we jointly own it outright. House is up for sale. I wish the house would sell quicker. He's giving no money to bills I'm literally broke. Solicitors cost money which I don't have. I'm worried baliffs come for his debt any advice as he's not living here.

Bailiffs will only call if the debts have been through the Courts.
Are you classed as 'vulnerable'?
Read the following -
https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/de...re-vulnerable/
When you get his debt letters, there is a return address on the back, just cross out the address at the front of the letter and post the letter back, you could write ' does not live here' on the front.
You may be entitled to some help with your legal fees, depending on your circumstances. I think you just need some control over things which you believe are out of control.
Update the thread.

Good advice and we can help you work out a plan to hold off his creditors whilst you pursue a divorce and get financial separation from him.
Has he done all the debts in his name? Have you checked your own credit file to see if he's taken any in your name - which is sadly very common.
How long were you married. Do you have children?
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012

The debts are not mine. All his personal debt . These people are not baliffs. They have no ID not official collectors. For the last couple of months I've financially disassociated from him. I've changed all household bills to my name and cleared all debts. The issue is he does not live here and is obviously in serious debt so is not informing people where he " actually lives". Ive removed him of the electoral roll and council tax. Any mail I put in an envelope and return to sender. Ive had to report one incident to police. I have told him to tell people where he is living but obviously he's not going to. House is for sale until then I have a stream of people coming to my home for him. It's embarrassing and unnerving is there anything legal I can do to make him stop using this address

This is a difficult one in truth because it sounds like these are not formal debt collectors or bailiffs.
When dealing with an authorised firm, you can use documents like council tax to prove non residence of another party or you can even get a statutory declaration stating the same, but this won't work with 'dodgy' debt collectors.
Is he continuing to create new accounts and using your address as an ongoing fraud? You could make a police report because this is criminal conduct and also could potentially be deemed harassment.
Try contacting a local domestic abuse charity - this IS financial abuse and there may be injunctive (court order) options to look at with their help."Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. Yes there was financial abuse hence my divorce. I'm living in the house until it sells. I'm under a charity already their advice is to tell the collectors to leave and phone police. The problem is he owns 50% of house until it sells. He is obviously using address still but it's unfair . If I had somewhere else to go I would.
