  • Decree Absolute and consent order - please help.

    Good afternoon,

Thank you in advance for your advice.

My decree nisi was issued on the 25/04/2019. I submitted a consent order in week 5 out of 6 that are allowed to submit any documentation. I contacted the court and they confirmed receiving the document.

The lady on the phone also advised that I can apply for a decree absolute now (before the judge has a chance to look into the consent order) due to the delays in processing the documents.

Can someone confirm please that this practice is allowed, as I'm under impression that I can not apply for a decree final until the consent order is approved by the judge?

    Thank you for your help.

    Best regards
    David

The consent order was agreed ( and signed) between the parties before submission ? Is the consent order relating to the financial arrangements?
I'd wait until the consent order is stamped until applying for the decree absolute save any issues arising should the consent order not be agreed.
