    Can someone help?

    Hello, I work for a local authority and need some advice.
    In 2015 a 12 month secondment opportunity became available. Someone was appointed to the post. The original post holder (on secondment themselves) moved to another job and the post was deleted. The person on the 12 month secondment had the secondment extended for a further 9 months. Is it legal to extend a secondment on a deleted post?

    What exactly do you mean by a 'deleted post'?
    Do you mean that it has become redundant, or has it just been withdrawn from a list of job vacancies?

      The post was deleted when the original holder move into a different job within the same local authority

        I must admit I don't know of any law which imposes a time limit on secondments.
        Is the secondee objecting to the extension for some reason?
