    Back to the thread issue.

Have just had a proper poke about cctvs for an hour or so, had a look as some new hacks....... I can not belive how many company's occidentally broadcast there cctv still..

And, on the more stoker side..

easy to record mulitpul cams remotely, and can assess some of the large retailers internal cams from the car parks of there store with the correct arial ( home made ). So company's really need to consider is there systems secure properly before plugging in CCTV systems. And CCTV is one of the hardest thigs to secure becuse of the bandwidth.
So come on CC, share your home made aerial plans with us.........

Its easy to make an aerial JB, depending on the type, but i could make a standard wifi hacking areal out of a can of pringles and a bit of wire. Just need to resume 2 points inside accurately to tune it.

There are also pre-allowed frequency's to broadcast cctv on, and programs like wireshark get you the security details.

Have a look at the high building around your town. If you can see white squares approx 80cm sq....... Then look at cams on lamposts, notice a little square ( 15cm ) white patch. Thats called a patch antenna, and is the most common type for town/citty cctv.

So, if someone wanted to. they could track someone across town with a £ 10 tuner and a diy aerial that cost about 5 to put together

Very interesting CC, I always did like scanners, short wave radio and was particularly fond of my CB radio, on the illegal frequencies.
My aerial was a fifteen foot aluminium rod, fixed to a twenty foot scaffolding pole.
I regularly used to chat to people in the USA.
Ah they were the good times.
        Legal CB killed it off.......

You'd get on with my Dad. He's just set his amateur radio aerials and what not back up after a long time off, I go along with him to rallies now and then.

Saying that, I was kinda bought up to despise chicken brains

Yeah I know what you mean...
I sure do miss those days.
My late cousin was a whizz kid when it came to electronics and radio.
He taught me pretty much all that I know about electricity and such like.
I used to sit in his shed, slap on a pair of ex army headphones and scan the airwaves for interesting conversations.
Now I scan the internet for something to do.

Legal CB is easier to monitor. I can remember the AM sets. All they needed was a filter to stop them affecting other frequencies. When I was a copper one or two of us had AM sets and would use them to monitor what was going on. Most of the time, it was innocent gabble, but on a few occasions we overhead transmissions that resulted in a blue light response. Crims were using CB.

There is still a big community out there, but its got a bit boring, IMO, as all they seem to do is read out and note down one anothers callsigns

I used to love listening in on the police frequencies...
Once heard police calling for more help when they had trouble at a Gypsy site in Hackney...

A supermarket puts CCTV in the toilets in order to prevent terrorism?

This has to be a first - and as such deserves a mention in the press, following which embarrassment, management may think again.

Try comparing the content of BBC news coverage with that offered by Press TV (the Iranian state broadcasting service. Currently jammed by the British government, but available online), al-Jazeera (Freeview channel 83), and Russia Today (Freeview channel 85. Their UK news show 'Going Underground' is particularly good).

The CCTV cameras were put in the gents and ladies toilets. they look straight behind the washbasins in the ladies and along the backs of the urinals in the gents so that you can just see the backs of the men using them. They were first placed in the gents only, supposedly 'to discourage homosexuality' but when the men complained of gender discrimination they put them in the ladies as well. Of course CCTV is extremely common in public toilets.
