Honestly - you couldn't make it up. I'm probably either the most unlucky or most stupid person to ever use the internet!
Short version of a long story - over a couple year ago I had a job in sales, it was rubbish but paid the bills. I was in charge of opening the store, banking and doing stock checks etc... A new manager started and imposed some silly (to me) rules. He started insisting on searching me... One day I pointed out that if I wanted to take something I'd probably do it when no one else was there as I opened up, had keys all security codes and even access to the safe. Long and short of it, I was suspended on full pay. During this time I got offered another job and resigned.
As some of you know I was made redundant a couple of months ago. I was offered a new job in the same sector as the job which I was investigated from! Sod it I though, I need to work for my sanity and need the money. I was asked why I left old job, so I told them I didn't get on with manager and got offered a better job. Fair enough - the manager wanted me.
On the first day I was challenged, I was told he had been told I'd been sacked. I explained this was rubbish and could show him my retirement letter. He said he wasn't bothered. So I thought it was over.
So this week he was meant to be on holiday. He came in and asked to have a word with me. Explained he'd been told I was investigated at my old job - I told the truth and explained all. He then said "you need to resign or I will fire you for gross misconduct" I explained that I couldn't quit as I needed some money - and if I resigned I would not be eligible for any benefits. So he escorted me off the site as fired. No witnesses were available.
So I put a claim in for jobseekers. Thinking that even though I've been sacked it's not really my fauly - I can't be expected to go through everything bad about me if not asked. And today I was asked to get a letter saying why I was dismissed.
Called up HR. He's said I verbally retired! A complete lie. To make matters worst if he'd have told the truth I would have been eligible for a week's pay for notice. I've obviously tried calling him, and he claims he can't speak to me. I've emailed hr who say they will look into it.
So here I am - I'll have ZERO income. You can't get jobseekers if you resign, and thats what the manager is saying I did! Any advice? Why would he come in on a holiday day, on the off chance I resigned? Why would I randomly resign? He's a complete ****ing lier!
I'm so tempted to walk into the shop and knock the little prick out, and then stamp on his head until there isn't anything left!!! Although going to prison might not help me in the long run.
